Job summary

Hornsby Shire Council is seeking an experienced leader to head its Corporate Support Division and shape services behind one of Sydney’s largest metropolitan councils. Reporting to the CEO, you will oversee Financial Services, People and Culture, Technology and Transformation, Land and Property Services, and Governance and Customer Service.

Bring a degree in business or commerce (or equivalent) and a proven record in senior local government leadership.

Qualifications

• Senior local government leadership experience required.
• Degree in business, commerce or related field (or equivalent).
• Strong financial and commercial judgement.
• Excellent governance and risk management skills.
• Clear communication with elected members and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Set division direction aligned with Council priorities.
• Lead budget development and statutory reporting.
• Ensure governance, risk, and compliance are met.
• Advance technology, data and property portfolios.
• Drive workforce planning and safety culture.
• Advise CEO, Mayor and Councillors with timely insights.
• Plan and manage change with open communication.
• Represent Council at meetings and events.
