Job summary

Hornsby Shire Council is seeking an experienced leader to head its Corporate Support Division, overseeing Financial Services, People & Culture, Technology & Transformation, Land & Property Services, and Governance & Customer Service. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will shape services behind one of Sydney’s largest metropolitan councils and drive sustainable outcomes for the community.

Your background includes a degree in business or commerce (or equivalent) and a proven track

Qualifications

• Degree in business, commerce or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Senior local government leadership experience.
• Ability to bring diverse views to sound decisions.

Responsibilities

• Set the Division’s direction so its services are responsive, reliable and aligned with Council’s priorities.
• Lead budget development, financial targets, expenditure monitoring and statutory reporting to protect Council’s long-term sustainability.
• Ensure systems and processes meet governance and statutory requirements, and manage legal, reputational, financial and safety risk.
• Advance technology, data and property portfolios to improve productivity, customer experience and community returns.
• Drive workforce planning, capability building and a positive safety culture, grounded in Council’s values of Serve, Trust, Respect and Innovate.
• Contribute to the Executive Leadership Team, giving the CEO, Mayor and Councillors clear, timely advice.
• Plan and manage change, communicating openly to build understanding and commitment.
• Represent Council at meetings, forums and civic events, and build productive relationships with government agencies, industry and community groups.
