Job summary

Weddin Shire Council is seeking an experienced local government leader to join its Executive Leadership Team as Director Corporate Services. This role is based in Grenfell, NSW and reports to the General Manager, providing strategic and operational leadership across the corporate functions that support Council’s services, decision making and long term financial sustainability.

Qualifications

• Senior local government leadership experience.
• Strong financial and strategic management capability.
• Knowledge of legislation, compliance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across the corporate functions that support Council’s services, decision making and long term financial sustainability.
• Serve as Council’s Responsible Accounting Officer.
• Strengthen financial planning and its integration with asset management and service delivery.
• Improve budgeting, financial reporting and the quality of advice supporting organisational decisions.
• Progress records digitisation, technology and process improvement initiatives.
• Advance tourism and economic development opportunities across the Shire.
