Summary:

Reporting to Financial Controller, the Accounts Manager will play a pivotal role in managing daily financial transactions within the real estate agency in Sydney’s Inner West. This permanent, full-time position is essential for ensuring accurate bookkeeping, liaising with outsourced Rental Trust accounting services provider and Sales Trust account transactions management. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall financial management of the organisation, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and enhancing operational efficiency.

Position Description – Trust Accounting & Finance Support

1. Rental Trust Account:

• Liaise with outsourced rental trust accounting services provider
• Assist with commercial rental adjustments if required
• Monitor automated fees and charge manual where required
• Assist with the investigation of unidentified deposits, including the lodgement of unclaimed monies with NSW Fair Trading where required
• Provide support and respond to ad hoc queries from Property Managers
• Data entry, checking and amendment as required (bank accounts, fees, strata, bond audit, and other details)
• Assist with the redirection of utility and council rates when necessary
• Review and follow up on outstanding owner invoices prior to mid-month and end-of-month payments
• Assist with annual Rental Trust Account Audit

2. Sales Trust Account:

• Daily Bank reconciliation
• Settlements & Early Release of Deposits (ensuring accurate system setup and required due diligence prior to settlement)
• Liaise with Sales Agents
• Assist with annual Sales Trust Account Audit.

3. Operating Accounts & General Finance Administration:

• Bank accounts reconciliations (including credit card)
• Accurate bookkeeping and data entry
• Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable function/Monthly Journals
• Provide general assistance to stakeholders on finance and accounting matters.
• Support the Financial Controller with ad hoc tasks if required

Skills and Experience:

-Sound understanding of NSW trust accounting requirements and compliance obligations
