Job summary

Visy is seeking an experienced Stores Manager for the Yatala Glass site in Australia. This day shift role oversees inventory, storage optimisation, and safe, efficient store operations, reporting to the Engineering & Reliability Manager.

You will manage a large parts store (~$12M) and consumables (~$1M), drive KPI-based improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable supply for production and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience creating and managing a large parts store from scratch.

• Building team capability in inventory management, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Experience using SAP for inventory control and procurement.

Responsibilities

Role Details:

Opportunity for an experienced Stores Manager keen to join our innovate Visy Yatala Glass site. This is a full-time, permanent DAY shift role 7:00am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday. As Stores Manager, you’ll be reporting to the Engineering & Reliability Manager. Your role will be overseeing inventory management and storage optimisation, ensuring optimal stock levels while promoting safe and efficient store operations.

What you’ll do:

• Maintain accurate and optimal inventory levels of consumables, spare parts, and maintenance materials to support production and maintenance.
• Promote a strong culture of safety and efficiency and compliant working environment.
• Maintain stock integrity through regular counts, reconciliations and discrepancy resolution and development and tracking of KPIs to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, and Procurement teams to forecast inventory needs, plan replenishment strategies, and support operational reliability.

What you’ll bring:

• Experience and enjoyment of creating a large parts store from scratch (approx. $12M of parts and $1M of consumables)
• Previous experience (preferably in FMCG) of overseeing warehouse operations, ensuring materials are received, stored, handled, and issued safely and efficiently.
• Experience of building team capability in inventory management, safety, continuous improvement, and SAP.
• Skills in managing supplier performance to ensure timely, cost-effective supply of critical materials, spare parts, and consumables.
• Ability to work autonomously while motivating and developing a high-performing lean stores team.
• Forklift licence highly desirable.
