Job summary

Visy is seeking an experienced Stores Manager for the Yatala Glass site, reporting to the Engineering & Reliability Manager. You will oversee inventory, storage optimisation and ensure safe, efficient store operations on a DAY shift.

Join a highly automated manufacturing team to lead a lean stores function, build capability, implement KPI tracking, and collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Production and Procurement.

Qualifications

• Experience managing large parts stores and replenishment
• Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced FMCG/industrial environment
• Strong focus on safety, accuracy and continuous improvement
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems and material planning

Responsibilities

• Maintain optimal inventory levels for consumables, spare parts and maintenance materials
• Promote a safe and efficient store environment with KPI tracking
• Conduct regular stock counts, reconciliations and issue discrepancy resolution
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Production and Procurement to forecast needs and plan replenishment

Job description

Role Details:

Opportunity for an experienced Stores Manager keen to join our innovate Visy Yatala Glass site. This is a full-time, permanent DAY shift role 7:00am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday. As Stores Manager, you’ll be reporting to the Engineering & Reliability Manager. Your role will be overseeing inventory management and storage optimisation, ensuring optimal stock levels while promoting safe and efficient store operations.

What you’ll do:

• Maintain accurate and optimal inventory levels of consumables, spare parts, and maintenance materials to support production and maintenance.
• Promote a strong culture of safety and efficiency and compliant working environment.
• Maintain stock integrity through regular counts, reconciliations and discrepancy resolution and development and tracking of KPIs to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, and Procurement teams to forecast inventory needs, plan replenishment strategies, and support operational reliability.

What you’ll bring:

• Experience and enjoyment of creating a large parts store from scratch (approx. $12M of parts and $1M of consumables)
• Previous experience (preferably in FMCG) of overseeing warehouse operations, ensuring materials are received, stored, handled, and issued safely and efficiently.
• Experience of building team capability in inventory management, safety, continuous improvement, and SAP.
• Skills in managing supplier performance to ensure timely, cost-effective supply of critical materials, spare parts, and consumables.
• Ability to work autonomously while motivating and developing a high-performing lean stores team.
• Forklift licence highly desirable.
