Job summary

Yorkshire Trading Company Ltd in Penrith is seeking a Retail Store Supervisor to help run the store on a part-time basis. The role involves assisting the store manager, leading retail colleagues, customer service, and stock replenishment on the shop floor.

Flexibility for weekend rota and additional hours during busy times is valued. 24 hours over 3 days, including some weekends. Pro rata annual leave is provided.

Qualifications

• Retail experience is preferred for supervising store activities.
• Ability to lead a small team and deputise for the store manager.
• Flexible availability for weekends and busy periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist the store manager in day-to-day store operations.
• Deputise in the absence of the Store Manager (key holder).
• Support training of retail colleagues on the shop floor.
• Manage displays, stock rotation and pricing checks.
• Provide excellent customer service and handle questions or complaints.
• Direct customers to racks and counters, suggesting items.
• Cash up duties and ensure pricing accuracy.

Yorkshire Trading Company, are a growing family owned run business with 42 stores throughout Yorkshire, Lincolnshire & the North East; a busy ecommerce operation and Outdoor Events teams who trade nationwide.

We have an opportunity for a Retail Store Supervisor to join the team in our Penrith Store.

The position is based on:

• 24 Hours over 3 days, to include some weekends on a rota basis

The ideal candidate would benefit from being flexible as additional hours may be required at busy times.

Duties to include but are not limited to:

• To assist the store manager in the day to day running of the store
• Deputise in the absence of the Store Manager (key holder)
• Support in the management and training of retail colleagues, including cashiers and the replenishment team working on the shop floor.
• Work on store displays / stock rotation and put away
• Keep up-to-date with all of our products, services and promotions.
• Handle customer questions, complaints, and issues
• Direct customers by escorting them to racks and counters suggesting items, delivering great, traditional customer service
• Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Cashing up duties as and when required
• Ensure pricing is correct.
