Job summary

Michael’s IGA in Korumburra seeks an experienced store manager to lead daily operations, ensure outstanding customer service and maintain best-in-class stock presentation.

Reporting to the owner and operations manager, you will drive sales and profitability, manage budgets and staff, uphold compliance and audit standards, and promote the store as the face of the community with weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• Current police check required.
• Experience as assistant manager in supermarket/retail (fresh foods desirable).
• Proven ability in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to achieve budgeted Sales, Gross profit and wage targets.
• Strong problem solving and initiative.
• Meeting legislative/compliance/audit standards.
• Uphold loss prevention policies.
• Lead a team including Departmental Managers.
• Deliver outstanding customer service.

Michael’s IGA is a market leading independent grocer. We have a strong focus on delivering an exceptional experience to our customers in range, quality, service and competitive pricing. We are seeking to recruit an experienced store manager to join our team in Korumburra.

Permanent – Full time position with rotational weekend work (Every 2nd Saturday, one late night and some public holidays)

Attractive base salary + 12% superannuation

Competitive staff discount of 10%

About the role:

Our store in Korumburra has been an integral part of the community since 1995. It will be your responsibility to assist in implementing business processes that ensure the team delivers optimum customer relationships and sustainable financial returns.

Reporting to the store owner, general manager and operations manager you’ll have full accountability for the day to day running of the entire store. You’ll take pride in ensuring that the store is well stocked and exceptionally presented, as well as welcoming and engaging for our customers.

About you and your skills:

• Willing to provide a current police check
• Candidates with a extensive background as an assistant manager within the supermarket or retail industry (with a strong focus on fresh foods desirable) may apply
• Previous experience in working in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to achieve budgeted Sales, Gross profit and wage targets.
• Problem solving and idea generation for the company.
• Meeting all legislative requirements in regard to compliance/audit standards.
• Ensuring company loss prevention standards & policies at upheld at all times.
• Effectively Managing/leading a Team which includes Departmental Managers.
• Delivering the highest of customer service standards across the entire store.
• Communicating with, support office, suppliers, customers and the team to get results.
• Driving sales & encouraging your team to deliver profitable results.
