Job summary

Khans Supermarket Group is seeking an experienced multi-site retail leader to take charge of operations across our network. You will lead Store Managers, lift performance and standards, and drive sustainable sales growth and profitability while travelling between sites.

You will report directly to the Directors and partner with Buying and HR to ensure promotions, training and retention. A strong background in supermarket or FMCG retail and 5+ years of multi-site leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in multi-site retail operations.
• Background in supermarket or FMCG retail.
• Track record of improving sales, margins and standards.
• IGA or independent supermarket experience highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Grow sales and profit by leading initiatives for year-on-year growth and better margins.
• Lead Store Managers: coach, support and hold managers accountable for targets and standards.
• Lift store standards: presentation, cleanliness, food safety and WHS compliance at all sites.
• Control the numbers: stock control, shrinkage reduction and labour efficiency in line with wage targets.
• Partner with Buying: ensure promotions, stock flow and layouts are executed well in store.
• Build capability: work with HR on recruitment, training, succession planning and retention.
• Own compliance: WHS programs, liquor licensing, food safety certifications and Metcash audits.
• Report and fix: track KPIs (sales, GP%, shrinkage, wages %, compliance) and act on root causes.

Khans Supermarket Group is a family-run independent retailer operating 10 IGA supermarkets across regional and suburban New South Wales, plus a Gift Shop and a BP Petrol Station. We are proud of our local stores, our people and our communities, and we are growing.

The role

We are looking for an experienced multi-site retail leader to take charge of operations across our network. You will lead our Store Managers, lift performance and standards, and drive sustainable sales growth and profitability. This is a hands-on, on-the-road role with regular store visits, reporting directly to the Directors.

What you will do

• Grow sales and profit: lead initiatives that deliver year-on-year sales growth, stronger margins and tighter cost control
• Lead Store Managers: coach, support and hold managers accountable for weekly targets, standards and results
• Lift store standards: presentation, cleanliness, food safety and WHS compliance across every site
• Control the numbers: stock control, shrinkage reduction and labour efficiency in line with wage targets
• Partner with Buying: make sure promotions, stock flow and layouts are executed well in store
• Build capability: work with HR on recruitment, training, succession planning and retention
• Own compliance: WHS programs, liquor licensing, food safety certifications and Metcash audits
• Report and fix: track KPIs (sales, GP%, shrinkage, wages %, compliance), find root causes and act on them

What you will bring

• 5+ years' multi-site retail operations experience (Area Manager, Regional Manager or similar)
• Supermarket, grocery or FMCG retail background (essential)
• A track record of improving sales, margin and operational standards
• Strong leadership, communication and coaching skills
• Confidence with sales reports, P&L drivers and KPI tracking
• IGA or independent supermarket experience (highly regarded)
• Current driver's licence and own vehicle, with regular travel between stores
• Flexibility to attend leadership or urgent site meetings outside standard hours when needed
