The Lohana Retail Group Pty Ltd, trading as Bindoon IGA, is seeking an experienced Store Manager in Bindoon, WA to oversee daily operations, staff performance, merchandising, stock control and supplier negotiations.

The role requires a diploma or higher qualification (or 3 years of relevant experience) and at least 1 year in a retail management position, with weekend and early-start availability. Employment is full-time, permanent, reporting to the owner.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of full-time retail or store management experience, or equivalent part-time role with financial responsibility.

Lohana Retail Group Pty Ltd, trading as Bindoon IGA is an independently owned IGA fresh food supermarket located in Bindoon, WA 6502. We are seeking an experienced Store Manager to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in store management and be capable of overseeing daily operations, staff performance, merchandising, purchasing, stock management and inventory control.

An annual salary of $79,500 to $87,500, plus superannuation, will be offered depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience. Employment conditions will comply with the General Retail Industry Award (MA000004).

Key Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the store’s daily operations and trading results.
• Manage a daily supermarket operation with a strong focus on fresh food and a product range suited to the local customer base.
• Achieve budgeted sales, gross profit and wage targets.
• Set retail pricing and run catalogue promotions and in-store specials.
• Order and manage stock across the grocery and fresh departments and control shrinkage.
• Lead, roster and train the store team, including Department Managers.
• Recruit staff, train them and manage employee performance.
• Maintain presentation and merchandising standards throughout the store.
• Ensure high standards of customer service in every department.
• Deal with Metcash and local suppliers and negotiate favourable trading terms.
• Ensure the store meets its food safety, work health and safety and award obligations and that it passes audits.
• Represent the business within the Bombala community.
• Keep accurate records and report to the owner on sales, wages, stock, staffing and regulatory compliance.

Skill & Experience

• At least a relevant diploma or a higher qualification or at least 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of a qualification.
• At least 1 year of full-time experience, or the part-time equivalent, in retail or store management, or in a department management or supervisory role that carried financial responsibility.
• Demonstrated ability to manage supermarket retail operations.
• Sound knowledge of ordering, stock control, product presentation and loss prevention.
• A strong commitment to customer service.
• Intermediate computer skills, including daily use of ordering and reporting systems.
• Availability to work weekends and early starts.
