Job summary

Morgan's IGA in Gisborne, Victoria, seeks a hands-on Produce Manager to lead the fresh produce department and deliver a first-class shopping experience for our customers. As Produce Manager you will coach a team, manage stock ordering and replenishment, rotate stock to minimise waste, and ensure quality, safety and presentation that drives sales and customer engagement.

This full-time role offers a competitive salary of AUD 70,000–80,000 plus super, with opportunities for career progression

Morgan's IGA is a proud family-owned supermarket group operating across four stores in Victoria (Gisborne, Melton, Sunbury & Delahey). We are seeking an enthusiastic and hands- on Produce Manager to lead our fresh produce department and deliver a first-class shopping experience for our customers.

About the role

As Produce Manager, you will take ownership of the department and be responsible for:

• Leading, coaching and developing a team of produce assistants
• Delivering an exceptional fresh produce offer through quality, availability and presentation
• Managing stock ordering, inventory control and daily replenishment
• Minimising shrink through effective stock rotation, quality control and waste management
• Creating attractive displays that drive sales and maximise customer engagement
• Monitoring department sales, margins and profitability targets
• Managing labour costs, rosters and team productivity
• Ensuring high standards of cleanliness, food safety and workplace safety
• Building a department culture focused on customer service, freshness and results

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in produce, fresh food retail, grocery or department management
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Experience managing ordering, stock levels, shrink and department performance
• Sound understanding of produce quality standards and stock rotation principles
• A hands-on approach with the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
• Strong organisational and time management skills
