Job summary

Whizdom seeks a Storage System Administrator with Dell Isilon, PowerScale and Object Store experience to manage and support the customers storage, backup and disaster recovery environment.

The role involves installation, configuration, patching, testing of ICT infrastructure, QA of designs, and delivering customer outputs within approved timeframes, with a 12-month contract and potential extension. Canberra location; security clearance requirement.

Qualifications

• Dell Isilon power scale and Object Store experience preferred.
• Experience in storage management, backup and disaster recovery.
• Security clearance (TSPV) required or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide storage, backup and DR guidance to customers.
• Assist installations, configuration, patching and testing of ICT storage infra.
• QA role for storage solution design and documentation.
• Collaborate with business on new capabilities and BAU activities.
• Provide knowledge transfer to technical staff as required.
• Deliver other customer-specified outputs within timelines.

Job description

Seeking a Storage System Administrator with Dell platform experience highly regarded, including Isilon, PowerScale and Object Store.

To provide a Storage Management role. The Specified Personnel must perform a number of tasks as part of an Information Technology Storage Management role, at the times and in the manner required by the Customer, including but not limited to:

• Provide support and advice on the Customers’ storage, backup and disaster recovery environment;
• Assist In the execution of plans for installation, configuration, patching upgrade and testing of ICT infrastructure including operating systems, virtualisation platforms and enterprise applications
• Provide a quality assurance role to projects in relation to technical solution design and documentation;
• Liaise with the business in consideration of new capabilities:
• Undertake BAU activities as required and directed:
• Provide skills transfer to all technical staff as specified by the Customer: and
• Provide other deliverables in the form and manner, and within the timeframes, specified by the Customer.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and maintenance of the storage hardware platform, including logging and managing support requests with vendors.

Required Knowledge/Experience and tools

Dell platform experience highly regarded, including Isilon, PowerScale and Object Store.

SFIA Skills/Attributes Prepares and maintains operation procedures for storage management Monitors capacity, performance, availability and other operations metrics. Takes appropriate action to ensure corrective and proactive maintenance of storage and backup systems to protect and secure business information Creates reports and proposals for improvement Contributes to the planning and implementation of new installations and scheduled maintenance and changes of existing systems.

Estimated start date January 2027

Contract: 12 Month Contract with 1 x 12 months extension option

Security Required: TSPV Security Clearance required
