Job summary

Indigeco Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Storage Administrator to join a complex enterprise infrastructure. This senior role focuses on building, supporting, and troubleshooting enterprise backup and storage platforms with emphasis on NetBackup, HCP, and VTL environments.

The position requires hands-on expertise in Veritas NetBackup and NetBackup Flex Appliances, with familiarity in Hitachi Content Platform and mainframe storage solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong enterprise Storage / Backup Administration experience.
• Hands‑on experience with Veritas / Symantec NetBackup.
• Ideally strong experience with NetBackup Flex Appliances.
• Experience with Hitachi Content Platform (HCP) / Object Storage.
• Experience with Virtual Tape Libraries (VTL) or Disk Library for Mainframe.
• Exposure to mainframe backup and storage environments highly regarded.
• Strong troubleshooting, capacity planning, monitoring, patching, and upgrade experience.
• Good understanding of ITIL and enterprise operational support.
• Ability to review technical designs and identify operational risks or supportability gaps.
• Ability to work autonomously and resolve complex technical issues with limited guidance.

Responsibilities

• Build, support and administer enterprise backup and storage platforms.

• Perform configuration, monitoring, capacity management and platform health checks.
• Troubleshoot complex backup and storage incidents and performance issues.
• Support infrastructure patching, upgrades and technical changes.
• Maintain service continuity, resilience and operational stability.
• Review detailed designs, implementation plans, test plans and rollback approaches.
• Assess operational readiness, supportability, risks and dependencies.
• Develop support documentation, recovery procedures and knowledge articles.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering, project and operational teams.
• Work within ITIL-aligned Change, Incident, Request and Problem Management processes.

Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Storage Administrator to join in a complex enterprise infrastructure environment.

Contract: 6 months + potential extensions

Please note: An active Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance is mandatory for this role.

This is a senior, hands‑on operational role suited to an experienced Storage / Backup Administrator who can independently support, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise backup and storage platforms. The environment is focused heavily on NetBackup Flex Appliances, Hitachi Content Platform (HCP), and mainframe virtual tape library solutions.
