Job summary

Commonwealth Bank seeks an experienced cloud data engineer to build modern, cloud-based data solutions that detect, monitor and prevent financial crime at scale. You will influence architecture and standards across a growing platform on AWS, shaping data-driven reporting and insights used bank-wide.

You’ll design, code, test and deploy enterprise microservices, collaborating with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to deliver secure, resilient data products that support critical decisions

• Experience designing and delivering complex distributed systems at scale.
• Strong hands-on software engineering capability and problem solving.
• Experience building microservices in cloud-native environments.
• Strong architectural and systems design skills.
• Track record mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Growth mindset and curiosity for emerging technologies and engineering practices.
• Contribute to triage of production and test environment issues.

Responsibilities
