Job summary

Linktree is seeking a Staff Data Scientist for the Office of the Founders in Melbourne/Sydney. You’ll partner with the founders to forecast growth, test bets, and quantify opportunities, turning business questions into measurable plans.

You’ll stay hands-on across the data stack, building datasets and models while guiding leadership with clear, data-driven recommendations. You’ll own driver-based forecasts, shape strategy with executives, and ensure accountability to the plans we commit to.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience as a Data Scientist or in a comparable analytical role in a high-growth technology company.
• Track record of shaping strategic direction with founders and executives, and can point to decisions your analysis changed.
• Built driver-based forecasts or operating models, and held yourself accountable to their accuracy.
• Hands-on across SQL and a modern analytics stack, and comfortable building your own pipelines and datasets.
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science or a related discipline.
• Able to hold a clear point of view with senior stakeholders, and change your mind when the data says so.
• Thrive in ambiguity and be the first person to work on a question.
• You can work from our Melbourne or Sydney office 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Shaping strategy by identifying opportunities, framing questions and recommending where to focus.
• Assessing strategic investments, quantifying trade-offs and recommending actions to pursue, test, scale or stop.
• Defining success measures with Finance and functional leaders; holding teams accountable to outcomes and adjusting course as needed.
• Building and owning datasets and models that quantify company performance.
• Influencing executive and board decisions through clear recommendations and transparent assumptions.
• Raising analytical standards across the company through best practices in metrics, forecasting and rigor.
