Job summary

Commonwealth Bank is seeking a Staff Software Engineer – Mobile to lead technical direction for Android in the Money Movement team. You will shape architecture, own end-to-end delivery from ideation to production, and drive reusable, scalable mobile components.

Collaborate with Product, Design, Security and backend teams to deliver secure customer journeys, uplift Android capability, and mentor engineers across the mobile organization.

Qualifications

• Deep Android development experience with Kotlin, Android SDK, and Jetpack Compose.
• Strong knowledge of mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture).
• Proven delivery of secure, reliable mobile apps with automated tests and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Set and champion the strategic technical direction for Android across the product.
• Own end-to-end delivery from ideation to build, test, release and production support.
• Modernise payment experiences and evolve legacy components into reusable, scalable solutions.
• Partner with Product, Design, Security, backend and other engineering teams to deliver secure customer journeys.
• Champion engineering practices across architecture, testing, CI/CD, performance and observability.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership and contribute to delivery planning.
