Job summary

Amazon Leo is a pioneering satellite program delivering low-latency, high-speed broadband globally. Amazon Inc. seeks a Sr. RF Comms Systems Engineer to lead integration and test of next-generation satellites, working across PHY/MAC, beamforming, and 3GPP conformance testing.

You will collaborate with RF, ASIC, SW, and testbed teams, design lab procedures, validate Doppler compensation and channel emulation, and push for high-quality wireless performance in a demanding lab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of professional RF/beamforming experience.
• Experience with RF lab equipment and FPGA verification.
• Masters/PhD in wireless comms is preferred.
• Knowledge of 3GPP NTN and ORAN for conformance testing.

Responsibilities

• Be at the forefront of bring-up, integration, and debugging of advanced PHY/MAC and beamforming radio systems for state-of-the-art satellite communication system.
• Architect, document, and execute 3GPP based testing for satellite to ground networks; define equipment requirements to achieve conformance testing.
• Collaborate across PHY algorithms, RF design, digital beamforming and antenna, MAC, and firmware teams for seamless integration and performance.
• Understand Doppler pre and post compensation techniques with CFO/SFO in LEO comms; test in lab; know channel emulators is a plus.
• Trade link budget and verify RF line-up for payloads in RF and IF configurations; characterize performance and root cause issues.
