About The Role

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Specialist Project Manager to join our City Projects team and play a key role in delivering an ambitious capital works program. This is an opportunity to lead the delivery of complex construction projects and contribute to a portfolio of critical community infrastructure while working in a collaborative and supportive environment.

The role is responsible for planning, procuring, delivering and completing technically complex and high-risk construction projects across a broad range of engineering, architectural and landscape architectural disciplines. It ensures projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget, and in accordance with Council objectives, community expectations and statutory requirements, while also undertaking the role of Superintendent's Representative on relevant contracts.

The position is responsible for the administration and implementation of construction projects; engaging consultants and contractors; managing and responding to contractual and commercial risks; and reviewing building contracts, plans and specifications. There is a close working relationship with the Design team for buildability resolution during the design phase and the preparation of tender documentation for construction.

You can also expect to:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of construction projects of varying scale and complexity, including scope development, planning, design, procurement, construction and project close-out.
  • Provide contract administration on Council contracts and act as the Superintendent's Representative (e.g. AS4000, AS4902, GC21 or equivalent)
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, cashflows and expenditure forecasts.
  • Identify, assess and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Engage and consult with internal and external stakeholders to identify requirements and inform organisational direction, strategy and action.
  • Deliver value for all stakeholders in an ethical, social and environmentally responsible manner.
About You

You are a highly experienced project delivery manager with a strong background in capital works, construction or infrastructure projects. With excellent commercial, contract management and stakeholder engagement skills, you can confidently lead teams, manage competing priorities and navigate complex environments while delivering quality outcomes and fostering a high-performance culture.

You will bring:

  • Extensive experience delivering complex construction / capital works projects across multiple disciplines.
  • Current Class C Driver Licence, Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • Degree qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management or other relevant discipline (or Diploma with equivalent demonstrated experience).
