Qualifications

• Experience as Spare Parts Interpreter or similar role.
• Mechanical knowledge of truck/trailer components preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication abilities.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with parts enquiries and orders in person, over the phone and via email.
• Identify parts requirements for truck and trailer repairs.
• Prepare quotations and process orders accurately.
• Raise and manage purchase orders to maintain parts supply.
• Liaise with suppliers to source parts and coordinate deliveries.
• Build relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
• Collect and deliver parts as required.
• Support workshop staff with parts identification and procurement.

About the Role

As our Spare Parts Interpreter, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth operation of our parts department by providing excellent customer service, coordinating parts procurement and supporting our workshop team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers with parts enquiries and orders in person, over the phone and via email.
• Identify and interpret parts requirements for truck and trailer repairs.
• Prepare quotations and process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Raise, enter and manage purchase orders to maintain adequate parts supply.
• Liaise with suppliers to source parts, confirm availability and coordinate deliveries.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
• Collect and deliver parts as required.
• Support workshop staff with parts identification and procurement.

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience as a Spare Parts Interpreter or in a similar parts-related role.
• Mechanical knowledge or an understanding of truck and trailer components (highly regarded).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• A current driver's licence.
• Experience in the transport, heavy vehicle or trailer industry will be highly regarded.
