Sushi Jiro is hiring a Sous Chef in Brisbane to lead all kitchen operations and deliver high‑quality Japanese cuisine. You will manage staff, ensure food safety and consistent plate presentation, and optimise prep and service during busy periods.

We seek a candidate with strong communication, a can‑do attitude, and flexibility for evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Eligibility to work in Australia is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in hospitality, restaurant or food service operations.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Understanding of food safety standards and HACCP principles.

Responsabilités

• Lead and supervise all kitchen activities to ensure efficient daily operations.
• Ensure dishes are prepared and presented to Sushi Jiro standards.
• Monitor food quality, portion control, plating and presentation.
• Coordinate food prep and service to meet peak trading demands.
• Maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment.
• Recruit, train, coach and supervise kitchen staff.
• Plan work rosters and manage labour budgets.
• Foster a positive, high‑performance team culture.
