Sushi Lovers Rabybay Japanese Restaurant, operated by Zesty Food Pty Ltd, is seeking a skilled and motivated full-time Chef to join our kitchen team in Cleveland, QLD. The role involves preparing and cooking high-quality Japanese dishes, planning menus, and maintaining kitchen standards.

You will train and supervise kitchen staff, work in a fast-paced environment, and contribute to menu development while upholding food safety and presentation standards.

Qualifikationen

• AQF Diploma or higher in Commercial Cookery, Hospitality, or related discipline, with at least one year of relevant experience; or three years in lieu.
• Sound knowledge of Japanese cuisine, ingredients, cooking techniques and food presentation.
• Demonstrated experience in preparing restaurant-quality meals.
• Strong knowledge of Australian food safety and hygiene standards.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Good communication and a positive, reliable attitude.
• Previous experience in a Japanese restaurant is highly regarded.

Aufgaben

• Plan and develop menus, including Japanese dishes and seasonal specials.
• Prepare, cook and present a variety of Japanese dishes to high standards.
• Monitor food quality, taste, portion sizes and presentation.
• Estimate food requirements, costs and labour costs.
• Order ingredients, monitor stock levels and minimise waste.
• Ensure proper storage, handling and rotation of food.
• Maintain compliance with Australian food safety and WHS standards.
• Develop and maintain standard recipes and cooking procedures.
• Coordinate kitchen activities for efficient preparation.
• Train, supervise and guide kitchen staff in cooking techniques and safe handling.
• Work closely with management to maintain smooth operations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas.
