Job summary

The Sporting Globe is seeking a Sous Chef to join the Surfers Paradise kitchen team. This role is centered on leading the crew during busy services, backing the Head Chef and ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly on game days.

You’ll be hands-on, drive performance, manage cost awareness, and help foster a kitchen culture that motivates the team. Surfers Paradise location offers exciting venue energy and strong career growth.

Qualifications

• Experienced Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready to step up.
• Proven ability to lead a high-volume kitchen.
• Hands-on leader who can maintain standards under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the front across busy, high-volume services.
• Deliver consistent, quality food no matter how many dockets are rolling in.
• Coach, develop and get the best out of the kitchen crew.
• Support labour, food costs, stock, ordering and kitchen performance.
• Work side by side with the Head Chef and venue leadership team.
• Help build a kitchen culture people actually want to be part of.

• You understand the numbers behind a successful kitchen, not just what happens over the pass.
• Most importantly, you’re hands on, switched on and lead from the front.
