Job summary

For Keeps Merch in Melbourne is seeking a Sourcing & Purchasing Officer for China Imports. You will source directly from Chinese factories, manage quotes, orders and delivery into Australia, and partner with our sales team to bring products to market.

Fluent Mandarin and strong English are essential, with proven experience shipping from China to Australia, coordinating QA remotely and negotiating terms. You’ll travel to trade fairs in China and help build our supplier network.

Responsibilities

• Source products directly from factories in China and obtain accurate, competitive quotes for the sales team.
• Find, vet and build relationships with factories and suppliers.
• Negotiate price, MOQs, payment terms and lead times.
• Manage each job from sourcing through to delivery: samples, approvals, production and shipping.
• Arrange freight from China to Australia with forwarders, including import paperwork and customs.
• Oversee quality checks remotely using inspection partners and pre-shipment checks.
• Travel to trade fairs in China to identify new products and suppliers.
• Maintain clear records of suppliers, pricing and jobs in our systems.
• Spot new products and trends worth bringing to our clients.

Sourcing & Purchasing Officer, China Imports (Mandarin Speaking)

Our sales team wins the client; you make the product happen. You'll source direct from factories in China and manage each job from first quote through to delivery in Australia. This is a hands on role for someone who knows Chinese manufacturing inside out.

Key responsibilities

Source products direct from factories in China and get accurate, competitive quotes back to our sales team quickly

Find, vet and build strong relationships with factories and suppliers

Negotiate price, minimum order quantities, payment terms and lead times

Manage each job from sourcing through to delivery: samples, approvals, production and shipping

Organise freight from China to Australia with our forwarders, including import paperwork and customs

Manage quality checks remotely, using inspection partners and clear checks before goods leave the factory

Travel to trade fairs in China to find new products and suppliers

Keep clear records of suppliers, pricing and jobs in our systems

Spot new products and trends worth bringing to our clients

About you
