Job summary

For Keeps Merch, a fast-growing Australian branded merchandise company based in Melbourne, is seeking an Offshore Sourcing Specialist. You will source directly from factories in China and manage each job from first quote through to delivery in Australia.

This hands-on role requires fluent Mandarin, strong English, and travel to trade fairs in China. You’ll build supplier relationships, negotiate prices and lead times, and organise freight with forwarders while keeping clear records.

Qualifications

• Experience sourcing from factories in China.
• Fluent Mandarin and strong English (written and spoken).
• Experience shipping products from China to Australia.
• Willingness to travel to trade fairs in China.
• Ability to manage multiple sourcing projects simultaneously.
• Experience in promotional products or retail is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Source products directly from factories in China and provide quotes quickly.
• Build relationships with factories and suppliers.
• Negotiate price, MOQs, terms and lead times.
• Manage each job from sourcing to delivery, including samples and approvals.
• Organise freight China to Australia with forwarders, import paperwork and customs.
• Oversee remote quality checks with inspection partners.
• Travel to China trade fairs to discover new products.
• Maintain records of suppliers, pricing and jobs in systems.
• Spot new products and trends for clients.

For Keeps Merch is a fast-growing Australian branded merchandise company. We help businesses across the country create merch their people actually keep. We’re growing quickly and are building out our sourcing capability to match.

The role

Our sales team wins the client; you make the product happen. You’ll source direct from factories in China and manage each job from first quote through to delivery in Australia. This is a hands-on role for someone who knows Chinese manufacturing inside out.

What you’ll do

• Source products direct from factories in China and get accurate, competitive quotes back to our sales team quickly
• Find, vet and build strong relationships with factories and suppliers
• Negotiate price, minimum order quantities, payment terms and lead times
• Manage each job from sourcing through to delivery: samples, approvals, production and shipping
• Organise freight from China to Australia with our forwarders, including import paperwork and customs
• Manage quality checks remotely, using inspection partners and clear checks before goods leave the factory
• Travel to trade fairs in China to find new products and suppliers
• Keep clear records of suppliers, pricing and jobs in our systems
• Spot new products and trends worth bringing to our clients

What you bring

• Strong experience sourcing from factories in China
• Fluent Mandarin and strong English, written and spoken
• Proven experience shipping products from China to Australia
• Experience managing quality control remotely
• Willingness to travel to trade fairs in China
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to juggle many jobs at once
