Job summary

The Royal Hospital for Women, part of NSW Health, in Randwick, NSW, is seeking a skilled sonographer to deliver high-quality imaging for obstetric and gynecologic cases. The role supports women and babies with compassionate care in a renowned tertiary care environment.

Qualifications

  • Hold Accredited Medical Sonographer (AMS) registration with ASAR and post-graduate ultrasound qualification.
  • Experience in obstetrics and gynaecology ultrasound.
  • Paediatric/neonatal ultrasound experience preferred or willingness to learn.
  • Willingness to upskill and participate in monthly case reviews and departmental quality assurance programs.
  • Participate in on-call roster and mobile examinations and ultrasound guidance in operating theatres.
  • Willing to train and teach trainee sonographers and junior medical staff.
  • Attention to detail and timely completion of tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality sonographic images for interpretation by a Medical Imaging specialist with care for women and babies.

The Royal Hospital for Women is a renowned tertiary/quaternary healthcare institution committed to providing exemplary care to women, babies, and their families from throughout NSW. The role of the sonographer is to provide high quality sonographic images for interpretation by a Medical Imaging specialist whilst offering the utmost care and compassion to women and babies.

Selection Criteria
  • Hold Accredited Medical Sonographer (AMS) registration with ASAR and appropriate post graduate ultrasound qualification.
  • Demonstrated prior experience in obstetrics and gynaecology ultrasound.
  • Prior experience in paediatric/neonatal ultrasound is preferred (or willingness to learn).
  • Willingness to upskill and learn new imaging techniques and participate in monthly case reviews and departmental quality assurance programs.
  • Participate in on call roster and willingness to perform mobile examinations and ultrasound guidance in operating theatres.
  • Demonstrate willingness to train and teach trainee sonographers and junior medical staff.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy and undertaking all tasks in a timely manner.
