Job summary

The Royal Hospital for Women, part of SESLHD, in Randwick, Sydney, seeks an experienced Radiographer Level 3 who specializes in ultrasound to join our dedicated Medical Imaging team. You will deliver high-quality sonographic images for obstetric and gynecologic cases and support clinical care across the women’s health services.

This permanent full-time role offers a collaborative work environment at NSW Health, with opportunities to teach trainees and participate in QA activities, on-call

Qualifications

• AMS registration with ASAR and postgraduate ultrasound qualification.
• Experience in obstetrics and gynaecology ultrasound.
• Willingness to upskill and learn new imaging techniques.
• Willing to participate in monthly case reviews and QA programs.
• Willing to train and teach trainee sonographers and junior staff.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and timeliness.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality sonographic images for interpretation by a Medical Imaging specialist.
• Participate in on-call roster and mobile examinations.
• Perform ultrasound guidance in operating theatres.
• Contribute to departmental quality assurance activities.

The role of the sonographer is to provide high quality sonographic images for interpretation by a Medical Imaging specialist whilst offering the utmost care and compassion to women and babies.

Selection Criteria

• Hold Accredited Medical Sonographer (AMS) registration with ASAR and appropriate post graduate ultrasound qualification.
• Demonstrated prior experience in obstetrics and gynaecology ultrasound.
• Prior experience in paediatric/neonatal ultrasound is preferred (or willingness to learn).
• Willingness to upskill and learn new imaging techniques and participate in monthly case reviews and departmental quality assurance programs.
• Participate in on call roster and willingness to perform mobile examinations and ultrasound guidance in operating theatres.
• Demonstrate willingness to train and teach trainee sonographers and junior medical staff.
• Demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy and undertaking all tasks in a timely manner.
