Job summary

Charterhouse is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect in Sydney for a 6‑month renewable contract. You will define high‑level designs, ensure stakeholder endorsement, and drive architecture governance across banking initiatives.

The role requires collaboration with analysts to translate business requirements into enterprise‑aligned designs for cloud, on‑premise, and hybrid environments. Ideal candidates bring strong TB architecture experience, familiarity with SWIFT/NPP/FSS, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Strong solution architecture background across complex enterprise environments.
• Banking/payments experience with SWIFT, NPP or FSS is preferred.
• Architecture governance aligned to COBIT 2019 / ISO 27001.
• Experience with cloud, on‑premise and hybrid architectures.
• Automation tooling and CI/CD environments (Terraform, Puppet, vRA, Packer; Azure DevOps, GitLab, Artifactory).
• Certificate lifecycle/security tooling such as Venafi or HashiCorp Vault.
• Proven ability to navigate complex design decisions and influence senior stakeholders.

Job description

6 months renewable -Rate : 900 to 950+ GST / day

Role Responsibilities

• Define solutions architectures, high-level designs, and impact assessments for initiatives and/or systems in the Bank.
• Take ownership of Architecture deliverables for Conceptual and Solution Architecture documents and ensure that they are agreed and endorsed by all stakeholders.
• Work with analysts in defining business requirements and work with subject matter experts to develop high level designs, in line with the enterprise architecture, patterns and practices. This may occasionally extend to assist with detailed design work.
• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders in scoping initiatives, ensuring they are scoped in accordance with architectural objectives and principles.

Key experience

• Strong Solution Architecture background across complex enterprise environments
• Banking or payments experience, ideally SWIFT, NPP or FSS
• Architecture governance and controls aligned to COBIT 2019 / ISO 27001
• Cloud, infrastructure, on-premise and hybrid architecture
• Automation tooling including Terraform, Puppet, vRA, Chocolatey or Packer
• CI/CD environments including Azure DevOps, GitLab and Artifactory
• Certificate lifecycle/security tooling such as Venafi or HashiCorp Vault
• Strong architecture documentation, including conceptual and solution architecture, HLDs and impact assessments
• Proven ability to navigate complex design decisions, resolve architecture contentions and influence senior stakeholders
