They are seeking a Solution Architect - Infrastructure to design and assure solutions for network, desktop and server infrastructure, virtualization, cloud, systems integration, security and other critical systems.

The role reports to the Solution Design & Assurance Lead and focuses on robust, scalable architecture aligned with strategic goals.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of substantial general work experience in enterprise IT environments.
• Experience as an Infrastructure or Solution Architect on medium to large enterprise projects.
• Experience preparing costed designs of infrastructure solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of enterprise-wide architecture and processes across the organisation.
• Drive creation and review of systems capability strategies aligned with business objectives, developing roadmaps for enterprise architecture initiatives and ensuring stakeholder buy-in.
• Analyse market trends, business strategies, and environmental factors to identify alternative strategies and provide key input to business cases for prioritisation and funding.
• Establish policies, standards, and practices to ensure alignment between business strategies, technology strategies, and enterprise transformation activities.
• Develops and drives adoption of and adherence to organisational policies, standards, guidelines and methods for system design.
• Champions the importance and value of system design principles and the selection of appropriate systems design lifecycle models.
• Leads system design activities for strategic, large and complex systems development programmes.
• Develops effective implementation strategies consistent with specified requirements, architectures and constraints of performance and feasibility.
• Develops system design requiring the introduction of new technologies or new uses for existing technologies.

Role focus:

Reporting to the Solution Design & Assurance Lead, the Solution Architect - Infrastructure is responsible for designing and assuring solutions for key technical domains such as network, desktop and server infrastructure, virtualisation, cloud, systems integration, security and other critical systems at Urban Utilities. This role involves creating and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure architectural designs that support the organisation’s strategic and operational goals

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of enterprise-wide architecture and processes to embed strategic change management across the organisation.
• Drive the creation and review of systems capability strategies aligned with business objectives, developing roadmaps for enterprise architecture initiatives and ensuring stakeholder buy-in.

Experience:

General

• 6 – 10 years of substantial general work experience together with comprehensive job-related experience enterprise IT environments and own area of expertise to fully competent level.
• Demonstrated experience as an Infrastructure or Solution Architect working on medium to large enterprise projects or programs.
• Demonstrated experience in preparing costed design of infrastructure solutions.
• Demonstrated experience with both written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences.

Technical

• Up to 10 years of experience in a related role.
• Demonstrated experience with the design of Information Technology infrastructure solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to work at both high level conceptual and detailed technical level depending on context and audience.
