Job summary

Paxus in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley is seeking an experienced Solution Architect – Infrastructure for a contract, hybrid role. You will design robust, scalable, secure technology solutions across infrastructure, cloud, networking and security, guiding initiatives with senior stakeholder teams.

Reporting to the Solution Design & Assurance Lead, you will develop roadmaps, standards and architectural principles while balancing cost, performance and risk.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Solution Architecture / Infrastructure Architecture within large and complex organisations.
• Demonstrated experience across cloud infrastructure, networking, servers, virtualisation, systems integration and security.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, standards and governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of solution architectures for complex technology initiatives.
• Design and assure solutions across network, desktop, server infrastructure, virtualisation, cloud, systems integration and security.
• Develop technical roadmaps, frameworks, standards and architectural principles.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, cost‑effective and aligned with business requirements.
• Provide architectural guidance and communicate technical decisions to senior stakeholders.
• Manage architectural trade-offs across functionality, service quality, cost and operational requirements.
• Lead system design activities for large and complex technology programs.
• Develop implementation strategies aligned with architecture and business needs.
• Support the development of systems integration and automation capabilities.
• Ensure security principles and controls are embedded throughout design.
• Contribute to technology strategy, business cases, risk assessments and prioritisation.
• Support architecture governance, risk management and compliance.

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect – Infrastructureto join a large Queensland-based organisation undergoing significant digital and technology transformation.

This is a key architecture role responsible for designing and assuring robust, scalable and secure technology solutions across infrastructure, cloud, networking, systems integration and security.

About the Role

Reporting to the Solution Design & Assurance Lead, you will provide architectural leadership across a range of complex technology initiatives. You will work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders and senior leaders to develop solutions that align with strategic objectives, enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading the development of solution architecturesfor complex technology initiatives.
• Designing and assuring solutions across network, desktop, server infrastructure, virtualisation, cloud, systems integration and security.

What We're Looking For

You will be an experienced Solution Architect with a strong infrastructure background and the ability to operate across complex enterprise environments.

You will ideally bring:

• Strong experience in Solution Architecture / Infrastructure Architecturewithin large and complex organisations.
• Demonstrated experience across cloud infrastructure, networking, servers, virtualisation, systems integration and security.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, standards and governance.
• Experience developing technical roadmaps, architecture frameworks and design standards.
• Proven ability to lead architecture and system design for complex programs and initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leaders and technical teams.
• Experience identifying and managing technology risks, dependencies and architectural trade-offs.
• Understanding of information security principles, controls and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with systems integration, automation and continuous integration practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in complex or ambiguous environments.

Qualifications & Certifications

Relevant qualifications and certifications will be highly regarded, including:

• Bachelor's or postgraduate qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline.
• TOGAF Practitionercertification.
• VMware VCP, Citrix or equivalent virtualisation certification.
• Relevant Azure or other cloud infrastructure certification.
