Job summary

Paxus Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Solution Architect – Infrastructure in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley on a contract basis with hybrid working.

The role leads architecture across infrastructure, cloud, networking, security and systems integration, delivering scalable, secure solutions aligned with enterprise standards.

You will collaborate with senior stakeholders and technical teams to shape roadmaps and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or postgraduate qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline.
• TOGAF Practitioner certification preferred.
• VMware VCP, Citrix or equivalent virtualization certification; Azure cloud cert advantageous.

Solution Architect – Infrastructure

Fortitude Valley | Contract Opportunity | Hybrid Working

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect – Infrastructure to join a large Queensland-based organisation undergoing significant digital and technology transformation.

This is a key architecture role responsible for designing and assuring robust, scalable and secure technology solutions across infrastructure, cloud, networking, systems integration and security.

About the Role

Reporting to the Solution Design & Assurance Lead, you will provide architectural leadership across a range of complex technology initiatives. You will work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders and senior leaders to develop solutions that align with strategic objectives, enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading the development of solution architectures for complex technology initiatives.
• Designing and assuring solutions across network, desktop, server infrastructure, virtualisation, cloud, systems integration and security.
• Developing technical roadmaps, frameworks, standards and architectural principles.
• Ensuring solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, cost-effective and aligned with business requirements.
• Providing architectural guidance and communicating technical decisions to senior stakeholders.
• Managing architectural trade-offs across functionality, service quality, cost and operational requirements.
• Leading system design activities for large and complex technology programs.
• Developing implementation strategies aligned with architecture, technical constraints and business requirements.
• Supporting the development of systems integration and automation capabilities.
• Ensuring security principles and controls are embedded throughout solution design.
• Contributing to technology strategy, business cases, risk assessments and prioritisation.
• Supporting effective architecture governance, risk management and compliance.
• Building strong relationships across technical and business teams and influencing key architectural decisions.

What We're Looking For

You will be an experienced Solution Architect with a strong infrastructure background and the ability to operate across complex enterprise environments.

You will ideally bring:

• Strong experience in Solution Architecture / Infrastructure Architecture within large and complex organisations.
• Demonstrated experience across cloud infrastructure, networking, servers, virtualisation, systems integration and security.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, standards and governance.
• Experience developing technical roadmaps, architecture frameworks and design standards.
• Proven ability to lead architecture and system design for complex programs and initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leaders and technical teams.
• Experience identifying and managing technology risks, dependencies and architectural trade-offs.
• Understanding of information security principles, controls and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with systems integration, automation and continuous integration practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in complex or ambiguous environments.

Qualifications & Certifications

Relevant qualifications and certifications will be highly regarded, including:

• Bachelor's or postgraduate qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline.
• TOGAF Practitioner certification.
• VMware VCP, Citrix or equivalent virtualisation certification.
• Relevant Azure or other cloud infrastructure certification.
