Job summary

HR Partners is seeking a Solutions Architect in Melbourne CBD to drive end-to-end architectures across front/customer-facing initiatives within defence delivery programs. The role focuses on translating business capabilities into scalable application, cloud, and integration blueprints while modernizing legacy landscapes and defining long-term technology roadmaps.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in solution architecture across app, cloud, and integration domains, with NV1 clearance or eligibility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of dedicated Solution Architecture experience across Application, Cloud, and Integration domains.
• Active NV1 Security Clearance or eligible to obtain NV1 clearance.
• Minimum 10 years of continuous work history with Australian companies.
• Experience within or supporting Defence industry clients is strongly preferred.
• Proven track record designing and executing End-to-End technology roadmaps in large enterprises.
• TOGAF certification is preferred.
• Deep understanding of enterprise application landscapes, APIs, integration frameworks, microservices, cloud platforms, and data flows.
• Experience in Agile and product-led delivery models.
• Strong communication skills and ability to bridge business and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive the design and governance of end-to-end solution architectures supporting complex defence delivery programs.
• Formulate and maintain high-level application technology roadmaps aligned with enterprise strategies.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners to translate requirements into robust, secure architecture blueprints.
• Evaluate existing platforms and architect future-state models including cloud migration strategies.
• Architect end-to-end patterns covering cloud infrastructure, API management, integration, data flows, and security.
• Produce architectural artefacts including design documents, reference architectures, and governance standards.
• Conduct platform evaluations to minimize technical debt and drive efficiency.
• Promote best practices and reusable design patterns across agile teams.

Key Criteria

• Solution Architecture Experience: 5+ years of dedicated Solution Architecture experience across Application, Cloud, and Integration domains, with the majority of experience focused on front/customer-facing environments.
• Security Clearance: Active NV1 Security Clearance or demonstrated eligibility to obtain NV1 clearance.
• Work History: Minimum 10 years of continuous work experience with Australian companies (checkable Australian work history).
• Industry Experience: Prior experience within or supporting Defence industry clients is strongly preferred.
