Qualifications

The Opportunity

We are seeking experienced Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of complex technology solutions supporting critical national security outcomes.

This role offers the opportunity to influence enterprise technology direction, develop future-state architectures, and provide expert guidance across major ICT initiatives. Working with business leaders, technical specialists and governance bodies, you will ensure technology solutions are secure, scalable, integrated and aligned to strategic objectives.

As a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for designing end-to-end technology solutions that enable organisational transformation and enhance operational capability. You will work across multiple technology domains, balancing business requirements, technical constraints, security obligations and long-term architectural objectives.

You will play a key role in shaping architectural standards, reviewing technology investments, and ensuring solutions are delivered in accordance with enterprise design principles and governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end solution architectures that are scalable, secure, efficient and fit for purpose.
• Develop solution, domain and reference architectures, including current-state and target-state views.
• Define integration approaches, interfaces and data flows across enterprise systems and third-party platforms.
• Produce high-quality architecture artefacts including High-Level Designs, Detailed Designs, Conceptual Architectures and Solution Overviews.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, platforms and products to support business and technology objectives.
• Conduct product assessments, technical reviews and architecture evaluations to support procurement activities.
• Collaborate closely with delivery teams to ensure solution designs are effectively implemented.
• Participate in architecture governance forums, design reviews and assurance activities.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of architecture standards, patterns, principles and guidance.
• Engage broadly with stakeholders to drive consensus and achieve successful outcomes.

About You

You are an accomplished architect with a strong background delivering complex enterprise ICT solutions in highly governed environments. You can think strategically while remaining hands‑on when required and are skilled at bringing together business and technical stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.

You possess exceptional communication skills and can confidently articulate architecture decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Desired Experience

• Solution, Domain or Enterprise Architecture experience within large-scale ICT environments.
• Strong understanding of cloud, infrastructure, application, integration and data architectures.
• Experience developing architecture roadmaps, capability models and target-state architectures.
• Proven ability to produce high-quality architecture and design documentation.
• Experience participating in architecture governance, review boards or design authority forums.
• Ability to evaluate technology options and provide evidence-based recommendations.
• Experience working within government, defence or national security environments is highly regarded.

Security Requirements

Applicants must hold a minimum NV1 Security Clearance or have the ability to obtain and maintain one.
