Job summary

The Queensland Government in Brisbane is undergoing a major, enterprise-wide transformation to modernise its technology landscape. A Solution Architect - Security is required to provide architectural leadership across cyber security initiatives as part of this program.

You will guide internal stakeholders and vendors, ensuring designs align with enterprise architecture, security standards and strategic objectives while supporting business case development and delivery planning.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering solution architecture across complex cyber security programs or enterprise transformation initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of Identity and Access Management including CIAM/WIAM environments.
• Familiarity with SailPoint and/or Microsoft Purview is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining Solution Overview Documents, High-Level Designs and other architecture artefacts.
• Providing architectural leadership across cyber security projects and programmes.

The Opportunity

Our client is undertaking a significant, enterprise-wide transformation program focused on modernising its technology landscape, strengthening organisational capabilities and improving how services are delivered. As part of this transformation, an experienced Solution Architect - Security is required to provide architectural leadership across a portfolio of Cyber Security initiatives.

Working across multiple projects and programmes, you will provide architectural guidance to internal stakeholders and vendors, ensuring proposed solutions align with enterprise architecture, security standards, strategic objectives and broader technology direction.

About the Role

The Solution Architect - Security will have a broad focus across four key cyber security capability areas:

Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM)

– supporting the progression of a new capability currently moving through the procurement phase.

Workforce Identity and Access Management (WIAM)

– supporting capabilities delivered through the SailPoint platform.

Data Loss Prevention (DLP)

– supporting capabilities delivered through Microsoft Purview.

Cyber Hygiene

– contributing to a portfolio of initiatives designed to strengthen security controls, practices and the organisation's overall security posture.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining Solution Overview Documents, High-Level Designs and other key architecture artefacts.
• Providing architectural leadership across cyber security projects and programmes.
• Reviewing and overseeing detailed solution designs developed by implementation partners and vendors.
• Ensuring security solutions align with enterprise architecture principles, technology standards and strategic objectives.
• Working closely with cyber security, technology and business stakeholders to translate requirements into practical and sustainable solutions.
• Supporting business case development, solution selection, implementation planning and delivery.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Solution Architect with a strong background in cyber security architecture and the ability to operate across complex enterprise environments.

You will ideally bring:

• Demonstrated experience delivering solution architecture across complex cyber security programs or enterprise transformation initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of Identity and Access Management, including CIAM and/or WIAM environments.
• Experience with platforms such as SailPoint and/or Microsoft Purview will be highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of cyber security architecture, security controls, data protection and enterprise technology environments.
• Experience working within large, complex or highly regulated organisations will be advantageous.
