Job summary

Client 1 in Canberra is seeking an experienced Solution Architect (C4I Systems) to lead the design, integration and delivery of end-to-end defence solutions, working with stakeholders on mission-critical environments.

This role welcomes Senior Software Engineers looking to transition into architecture; NV1 clearance, and a degree in IT or engineering are required, with broad expertise across integration, cloud, security and defence ICT.

Qualifications

• Experience in Solution Architecture, Systems Integration, or Enterprise Architecture.
• Senior Software Engineers transitioning to Architecture are welcome to apply.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise, integration, and security architectures.
• Familiarity with architectural frameworks (TOGAF, DODAF, AUSDAF).
• Exposure to Defence C4I systems or complex ICT environments.
• Broad understanding of IT domains: integration, cloud, UX, and business processes.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Degree in IT, Engineering, or related discipline (Master's preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver C4I system solutions across Defence environments.
• Engage stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Lead system integration, implementation, and lifecycle improvements.
• Develop architecture artefacts using modelling frameworks and visual tools.
• Facilitate technical workshops with customers and internal teams.
• Communicate system changes, impacts, and new capabilities to stakeholders.
• Support pre-sales and post-sales activities, including proposals and estimations.
• Collaborate with engineers, project teams, and Defence stakeholders.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect (C4I Systems) to join a leading international IT solutions provider supporting Defence programs.
In this role, you will lead the design, integration, and delivery of end-to-end C4I solutions, working closely with stakeholders to support mission-critical Defence capability across complex environments.
We would also welcome applications from Senior Software Engineers looking to take the next step into the Architecture space.
