Job summary

Mountains Animal Hospital in Blaxland, NSW is seeking a motivated GP Veterinary Nurse for a part-time role. You will work regular Tuesday to Saturday shifts in a small GP clinic with a friendly local client base, and be comfortable with sole charge duties alongside one vet and one nurse onsite.

You will manage patient care, communicate with clients, handle reception tasks, and provide nursing and boarding support.

Qualifications

• Certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a veterinary nursing role.
• Enthusiastic, outgoing personality and excellent phone manner.
• Commitment to high standards of patient care.
• Interest in mentoring junior nurses and work experience students.
• Comfortable with sole nurse work (one Vet and one nurse onsite).
• Able to manage reception, consulting, surgery and kennel tasks.
• RxWorks and Vetcheck experience desired but not essential.
• Four weeks annual leave per year (pro-rata for part-time).

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care and outcomes for patients and clients.
• Communicate regularly with clients face-to-face and by phone.
• Reception/administration duties including invoicing and record keeping.
• Provide nursing care including surgical nursing and inpatient treatments.
• Tend to boarding patients in the clinic's pet hotel and kennels.
• Provide basic grooming for sedated patients and nursing consults.
