Job summary

Aussie Broadband is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing team of software engineers, combining technical leadership with people leadership to deliver scalable, secure, customer‑focused solutions.

You'll shape the engineering culture, drive best practices, CI/CD, and collaborate with stakeholders across Technology to deliver ABB's replatforming and digital transformation initiatives while guiding distributed or remote teams towards reliable delivery.

Qualifications

Experience leading and developing Software Engineers in a high-performing team.
Strong stakeholder management and ability to align technical solutions with business outcomes.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Solid understanding of modern web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) and responsive design.
Experience designing, building and integrating APIs and distributed services.
Track record delivering scalable, secure software in complex environments.
Experience integrating enterprise apps with third-party platforms and external services.
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and automated deployment frameworks.
Experience leading platform modernisation or replatforming initiatives.
Experience leading distributed or remote teams.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and direction, ensuring solutions align with objectives and standards.
Build a high-performing, accountable engineering culture with emphasis on innovation and delivery.
Lead design, development and delivery of scalable solutions for customer-facing apps, digital services and internal platforms.
Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, testing, QA and CI/CD.
Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency and value.
Coach and develop engineers through feedback and career discussions.
Partner with stakeholders across Technology to shape solutions and delivery outcomes.
Lead resolution of complex technical, scalability, performance, and architectural challenges.
Support and contribute to replatforming and technology transformation programs.
Lead and collaborate with distributed or remote teams.
