Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, with 3–5+ years leading teams.
• Proven experience delivering web, cloud-native, and integration solutions in complex enterprise settings.
• Strong DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing experience.
• Solid understanding of reliability, observability, performance, and operations models.
• Experience establishing engineering standards, governance, and quality across multiple teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional influence.
• Proven coaching, mentoring, and performance management of engineers.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead high-performing engineering teams.
• Drive DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and SRE practices.
• Provide technical leadership across architecture, security, and reliability.
• Establish and track engineering health metrics (deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate).
• Govern designs with enterprise architecture principles and standards.
• Develop workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies.
• Coach, mentor, and grow engineers, supporting career progression.
• Manage performance and delivery across squads in a fast-paced Agile environment.
• Identify and manage technical, operational, and delivery risks while balancing priorities.
• Promote Optus values and an inclusive engineering culture.
