Job summary

Aussie Broadband is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team and drive scalable, secure software solutions across customer-facing apps, digital services and internal platforms.

You will coach engineers, align technical work with business goals, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-impact projects in a distributed environment. Flexible work arrangements available.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering commercial software solutions using modern frameworks and practices.
  • Proven success leading and developing Software Engineers within a high-performing team.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to align technical solutions with business outcomes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability with experience resolving complex technical challenges.
  • Strong understanding of modern web technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and responsive design.
  • Expertise in database design, schema architecture, performance tuning and query optimization.
  • Experience designing, building and integrating APIs and distributed services.
  • Track record of delivering scalable, secure and maintainable software solutions in complex environments.
  • Experience integrating enterprise applications with third-party platforms and external services.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and automated deployment frameworks.
  • Experience supporting platform modernization, transformation or replatforming initiatives.
  • Experience leading and working with distributed or remote teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and direction aligning solutions with business objectives and engineering standards.
  • Foster a high-performing, accountable engineering culture with focus on innovation and delivery.
  • Lead design, development and delivery of scalable, customer-facing applications and internal platforms.
  • Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, testing, QA and CI/CD.
  • Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency and enable greater value delivery.
  • Coach and mentor engineers through feedback and career development conversations.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Technology and business to shape solutions and delivery outcomes.
  • Tackle complex technical, scalability and architectural challenges.
  • Support and contribute to replatforming and technology transformation programs.

As our Software Engineering Manager, you’ll put our values up in lights by:
