Job summary

Australian Retirement Trust in Brisbane is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test and support application solutions that improve member outcomes.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, analyze requirements and contribute to planning, estimation and continuous improvement while working with modern tools and cloud technologies. This is a permanent role based in Brisbane with hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in software development using modern programming languages, frameworks and cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of relational databases and SQL development.
• Experience with version control practices, automated builds and modern development workflows.
• Ability to translate business and technical requirements into effective software solutions.
• Understanding of Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in medium to large enterprise environments.
• Experience in financial services, superannuation or regulated industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain high-quality software solutions.
• Analyse requirements and implement enhancements in line with standards and best practices.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve incidents and system issues promptly.
• Support software configuration, testing and deployment across environments.
• Contribute to planning, estimation and solution design.
• Maintain system and technical documentation for knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver solutions.
• Support continuous improvement across development practices, tools and processes.
• Identify, assess and escalate risks per organisational frameworks.
• Participate in after-hours support and on-call rosters as required.
