Job summary

Australian Retirement Trust in Brisbane is looking for an Application Specialist to keep critical IT applications available, reliable and performing. You will provide hands-on support, investigate incidents and coordinate changes and releases into live environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience supporting complex IT systems and web-based applications.
• Experience supporting front and back-office transaction processing systems.
• Confident investigating incidents and identifying practical solutions.
• Understanding of application support, incident and problem management.
• Strong communication with business, technical and supplier stakeholders.
• Familiar with risk identification, root cause analysis and escalation.
• Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle and Agile delivery.
• Financial services or superannuation experience is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance and support for business-critical applications.
• Manage application support processes, procedures and documentation.
• Respond to incidents by prioritising, diagnosing and investigating issues.
• Coordinate timely incident resolution, escalation, recovery and closure.
• Analyse recurring issues and conduct root cause investigations.
• Support application availability and performance against SLAs.
• Develop, document and test disaster recovery arrangements.
• Assist with software configuration across environments.
• Test application changes and coordinate retesting.
• Package, build, test and deploy releases into live environments.
• Contribute to release planning and process improvement.
• Guide clients and team members in using business systems.
• Provide specialist advice and complete technical tasks.
• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and vendors.
