Job summary

Howden Insurance Brokers Australia is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to Howden Bridge, the online quote-and-bind platform, and to help shape the technical direction across multiple teams in a growing global organisation.

The role offers hands-on development across the full lifecycle, with ownership from design through testing and release. You will collaborate with Operations, Broking, Underwriting and Architecture to deliver scalable, secure digital insurance solutions.

Qualifications

• Extensive commercial software development experience across the full lifecycle.
• Experience building web applications, APIs and integrations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ownership of technical outcomes.
• Ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Good understanding of software architecture, security and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Developing features and enhancements for Howden Bridge to support digital distribution.
• Collaborate with Operations, Broking, Underwriting, Solutions and Architecture to turn requirements into solutions.
• Design secure, scalable, reliable and user-friendly software.
• Investigate and resolve production issues and defects.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and improve engineering standards.
• Contribute to the longer-term technical roadmap for Bridge and related products.
