Salary Package: Up to $130,000 dependant on experience (inclusive of superannuation) + Performance Bonus

This role owns and implements the brand’s social strategy and content ecosystem, driving cultural relevance, brand love, and commercial impact for one of Australia’s most iconic snack brands. Setting the strategic direction for how Shapes shows up across social, content, creators, and community, the successful candidate will translate the brand’s bold flavour personality and social snacking credentials into distinctive, insight‑led work that grows engagement, consideration, and demand.
Working closely with the Shapes brand team, Growth Partnerships & PR lead, and commercial stakeholders, this position provides senior social leadership across campaign planning, always-on content, creator partnerships, social listening, and performance optimisation. With Shapes expanding beyond its ANZ heartland into global markets (UK, US, Asia), this role will also play a critical part in shaping how the brand builds relevance, consistency, and momentum in new markets and geographies.
The successful candidate will lead end‑to‑end ownership of the Shapes content ecosystem.
Strategy & Execution: Own and execute the global social and content strategy, ensuring every activity strengthens the brand's bold flavour personality, cultural relevance, and social snacking credentials.
Content Planning: Translate overall brand strategy, campaign platforms, and commercial priorities into distinctive, social‑first content plans that drive engagement, consideration, trial, and demand.
Always-On Agenda: Set the quarterly and always‑on social agenda across campaigns, creators, community, PR moments, partnerships, events, and retail activations, ensuring seamless integration with the broader marketing calendar.
Direct Creation & Creator Leadership: Work with partners and creators to deliver high‑quality, fit‑for‑platform, and culturally responsive storytelling, alongside hands‑on shooting, editing, and publishing for TikTok, Instagram, Meta, and Pinterest.
Social Listening & Data Insights: Harness social listening, performance data, and cultural trends to identify brand opportunities, sharpen creative decisions, and inform broader brand, innovation, and commercial plans.
Performance Metrics: Define measurable objectives linked to key brand and demand drivers, including engagement, sentiment, penetration growth, new product trial, and campaign effectiveness.
Community Engagement: Own community management, reactive moments, and consumer responses to ensure the brand shows up with confidence, consistency, and the perfect tone in social conversations.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Brand, Growth Partnerships & PR, Product Development, Sales, and CX teams to embed social thinking early into campaign, innovation, and commercial strategies.
Global Market Expansion: Bring strategic social leadership to new geographic markets, shaping how Shapes builds relevance, consistency, and momentum beyond its ANZ heartland.
Stakeholder Influence: Present social strategies, insights, and recommendations to senior stakeholders to drive continuous improvement across the Shapes growth agenda.
Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience as a Social Media Specialist or Manager, with a strong background in social strategy, community building, and content creation (agency or in‑house).
Education: BSc degree in Marketing or a relevant field.
Technical & Platform Expertise: Excellent knowledge of social media best practices across Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, X, and emerging platforms, alongside familiarity with web publishing, design, SEO, and web traffic metrics.
Analytics & Research: Proven ability to define and track social KPIs, set strategic objectives, measure success, and conduct audience or buyer persona research.
Creator & Production Skills: Highly skilled in filming and editing social video content on the fly, with high brand affinity and creative vision.
Cultural Connection: Deep understanding of Australian culture, including sports, gaming, and online trends.
Core Competencies: Great leadership skills, critical thinking, top‑tier planning and time‑management skills, and excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
