Job summary

Australian Catholic University (ACU) seeks an experienced Talent Acquisition SME for its Workday Transformation program. The role combines recruitment expertise with Workday knowledge to shape recruitment processes and service delivery across ACU’s large, complex organisation.

Based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane, you will help design, configure, test and implement Workday Recruiting and Core HCM, ensuring compliant and streamlined recruitment practices as ACU transforms.

Qualifications

• Experience in talent acquisition and HR in large organisations.
• Proven Workday implementation, transformation or optimisation experience.
• Strong understanding of Workday Recruiting and Core HCM.
• Ability to translate business requirements into practical system solutions.
• Proven stakeholder engagement across HR, Finance, IT and business units.

About the Opportunity
Charterhouse Recruitment is partnering exclusively with Australian Catholic University (ACU) to recruit an experienced Talent Acquisition Subject Matter Expert (SME) to play a key role in a major, university-wide Workday ERP transformation program.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine your expertise in recruitment and talent acquisition with your knowledge of Workday, helping to shape the future of recruitment processes, systems and service delivery across a large, complex organisation.

Working within ACU's People and Capability Directorate, you will play a pivotal role in the design, configuration, testing and implementation of Workday, ensuring recruitment processes are streamlined, compliant and aligned with the university's broader transformation objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist expertise across the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle, ensuring Workday solutions align with organisational policies, governance and operational requirements.
• Lead requirements gathering, stakeholder workshops and process improvement initiatives.
• Translate complex recruitment and HR business requirements into practical Workday solutions.
• Support the design, configuration, testing and implementation of Workday Recruiting and Core HCM functionality.
• Develop and validate recruitment testing scenarios, ensuring solutions meet business requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across HR, Finance, IT and wider business functions to deliver successful transformation outcomes.
• Contribute to change management, training and adoption activities to support the transition to new systems and processes.

About You

You will bring:

• Significant experience across talent acquisition, recruitment operations or HR, ideally within a large or complex organisation.
• Experience working on a Workday implementation, transformation or optimisation program.
• Strong understanding of Workday Recruiting, Core HCM and the relationship between recruitment and wider HR processes.
• Demonstrated experience translating business requirements into practical system solutions and process improvements.
• Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders across multiple business functions.
• Experience supporting system testing, process design and implementation activities.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant postgraduate qualifications or an equivalent combination of education, training and professional experience.

Experience within higher education or similarly complex organisations will be highly regarded.
