Job summary

Australian Catholic University (ACU) is seeking a Talent Acquisition SME to lead the Workday transformation across recruitment and Core HR, shaping how candidate sourcing, interviewing and onboarding operate within a large university.

You will design, configure, test and implement Workday Recruiting and Core HCM, translating business needs into practical system solutions while engaging stakeholders across HR, IT and finance.

Qualifications

• Significant experience across talent acquisition, recruitment operations or HR in large or complex organisations.
• Experience working on a Workday implementation, transformation or optimisation program.
• Strong understanding of Workday Recruiting and Core HCM.
• Ability to translate business requirements into practical system solutions and process improvements.

• Provide specialist expertise across end-to-end recruitment lifecycle with Workday alignment.
• Lead requirements gathering, stakeholder workshops and process improvements.
• Translate recruitment and HR requirements into practical Workday solutions.
• Support design, configuration, testing and implementation of Workday Recruiting and Core HCM.
• Develop and validate recruitment testing scenarios meeting business needs.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, IT and other functions to deliver transformation outcomes.
• Contribute to change management, training and adoption activities.

About the Opportunity

Charterhouse Recruitment is partnering exclusively with Australian Catholic University (ACU) to recruit an experienced Talent Acquisition Subject Matter Expert (SME) to play a key role in a major, university-wide Workday ERP transformation program.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine your expertise in recruitment and talent acquisition with your knowledge of Workday, helping to shape the future of recruitment processes, systems and service delivery across a large, complex organisation.

Working within ACU's People and Capability Directorate, you will play a pivotal role in the design, configuration, testing and implementation of Workday, ensuring recruitment processes are streamlined, compliant and aligned with the university's broader transformation objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist expertise across the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle, ensuring Workday solutions align with organisational policies, governance and operational requirements.
• Lead requirements gathering, stakeholder workshops and process improvement initiatives.
• Translate complex recruitment and HR business requirements into practical Workday solutions.
• Support the design, configuration, testing and implementation of Workday Recruiting and Core HCM functionality.
• Develop and validate recruitment testing scenarios, ensuring solutions meet business requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across HR, Finance, IT and wider business functions to deliver successful transformation outcomes.
• Contribute to change management, training and adoption activities to support the transition to new systems and processes.

About You

You will bring:

• Significant experience across talent acquisition, recruitment operations or HR, ideally within a large or complex organisation.
• Experience working on a Workday implementation, transformation or optimisation program.
• Strong understanding of Workday Recruiting, Core HCM and the relationship between recruitment and wider HR processes.
• Demonstrated experience translating business requirements into practical system solutions and process improvements.
• Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders across multiple business functions.
• Experience supporting system testing, process design and implementation activities.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant postgraduate qualifications or an equivalent combination of education, training and professional experience.

Experience within higher education or similarly complex organisations will be highly regarded.
