Job summary

Technigro is seeking an experienced Small Engine Mechanic based in Yatala to service, maintain, and repair handheld horticultural equipment through to mowing machinery, tractors, and trailers. You'll help minimise downtime and keep our fleet safe and efficient.

We're a South East Queensland landscape and turf maintenance provider that values teamwork, safety, professionalism and continuous improvement. This hands-on role offers a supportive team and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Must hold a trade qualification as a mechanic.
• Experience servicing landscaping/ horticultural equipment is preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and fuel systems.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and repair handheld horticultural equipment.
• Maintain commercial mowing equipment, tractors, trailers and turf machinery.
• Diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and fuel systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance to maximise equipment reliability.
• Complete equipment rebuilds and parts replacements.
• Carry out mobile servicing and breakdown repairs as required.
• NaN welding and fabrication repairs (if applicable).
• Source and purchase parts through approved suppliers.
• Maintain service records and safe workshop practices.

Key Responsibilities

As our Small Engine Mechanic, you will:

• Service, maintain, and repair handheld horticultural equipment
• Maintain commercial mowing equipment, tractors, trailers, and specialised turf machinery
• Diagnose and repair faults across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel systems
• Perform preventative maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime
• Complete equipment rebuilds, component replacements, and scheduled servicing
• Carry out mobile servicing and breakdown repairs when required
• Undertake basic welding and fabrication repairs
• Source and purchase parts and consumables through approved suppliers
• Maintain accurate service records and ensure workshop housekeeping meets safety standards

About You

You're a trade-qualified mechanic with a practical, solutions-focused approach and a passion for keeping equipment operating at its best.

You'll bring:

• Trade qualification as a Mechanic or equivalent
• Recent experience servicing and repairing landscaping, horticultural, agricultural, or similar equipment
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, and electrical systems
• Experience maintaining:
• Handheld equipment including whipper snippers, chainsaws, blowers, and hedge trimmers
• Commercial mowing equipment including ride-on, rotary, and cylinder mowers
• Tractors, trailers, and associated implements such as aerators and top dressers
• Diesel engine experience (highly regarded)
• Basic welding and fabrication skills (desirable)
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workshop priorities and parts inventory
• A current Australian driver's licence, with confidence towing and manoeuvring trailers
• A commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organised workshop
