Job summary

Green by Nature in Canning Vale, WA, is seeking a trades-certified mechanic to maintain and repair a range of landscape and power equipment. You will perform routine servicing, diagnose issues, and ensure safe operation of tractors, mowers, and trailers.

This permanent full-time role requires a current manual licence, willingness to tow trailers, strong organisation, and commitment to safety. On-site work with full PPE and uniform provided.

Qualifications

• Must be a Trade Certified Mechanic with hands-on experience maintaining and repairing small plant equipment and larger machinery.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with diesel engine experience and the ability to diagnose mechanical issues.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and repair small plant equipment (ride-on mowers, push mowers, brush cutters, chainsaws, blowers, hedgers, edgers, spray packs, power tools).
• Maintain and service tractors and trailers.
• Diagnose and repair problems with fuel, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems; perform testing and rebuilds with genuine parts.
• Complete preventive maintenance of equipment, vehicles and trailers.
• Undertake onsite/mobile servicing as required and perform welding for repairs.
• Purchase equipment parts and supplies from approved suppliers.

About the Role

This role is pivotal in ensuring that our operations run smoothly every day by maintaining and repairing the equipment that is critical to our work. The primary focus will be on keeping our equipment in optimal condition, performing regular maintenance and executing timely repairs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and repair small plant equipment such as ride on mowers, push mowers, brush cutters, chain saws, blowers, hedgers, atom edgers, chemical spray packs, power tools and more.
• Maintain and service tractors and trailers.
• Diagnose and repair problems with equipment, including proper testing procedures, teardown & rebuild with genuine parts replacement.
• Complete preventive maintenance of equipment, vehicles and trailers.
• Diagnose and repair problems in fuel, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems of equipment.
• Perform some onsite/mobile servicing as required
• Undertake welding for repairs
• Purchase equipment related parts and supplies from approved suppliers

About You

You are a Trade Certified Mechanic with recent experience maintaining and repairing small plant equipment as well as larger machinery and vehicles.

You hold a current Manual driver's licence and have proven ability to safely tow and manoeuvre a trailer. Your recent experience providing landscape equipment repairs and preventative maintenance will be highly regarded.

You have proven ability to troubleshoot and problem solve mechanical issues, and your diesel engine experience will be looked upon favourably.

Your attention to details lends itself to accurately manage parts and service inventory and you are able to prioritise work requests to ensure minimal down time of key pieces or plant and equipment.

You put safety first in all that you do and pride yourself on maintaining an organised, clean and safe workshop and have a clear focus on using all tools and equipment safely and effectively

You have a current National Police Check (or willing to obtain) and drivers licence.
