Job summary

Evoke Maintenance Services in Mackay is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to lead civil construction crews on mine-site projects. You will coordinate crews, plan daily activities and ensure delivery to safety, quality and schedule standards.

Candidates should have a strong background in civil works, concreting or carpentry, and hold a current QLD driver licence. The role offers a full-time position with rosters of 4/3 or 8/6 and a local management team supporting project delivery.

About EMS

Evoke Maintenance Services (EMS) is an established Central Queensland contractor with over 20 years of experience delivering civil construction, concreting, carpentry and maintenance works across the mining and industrial sectors.

With a strong pipeline of projects across the Bowen Basin, we’re looking for an experienced Site Supervisor / Site Manager to join our Mackay-based team.

We’re particularly interested in people with a strong background in civil construction, concreting, formwork or civil carpentry who are confident leading crews and managing works on operational mine sites.

About the Role

You’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of civil construction works, coordinating crews, resources and site activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

Working closely with our Project Managers and Construction Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

Supervising and coordinating civil construction crews and subcontractors

Planning and organising daily and weekly site activities

Managing labour, plant, equipment and materials to meet project requirements

Maintaining safety, quality and environmental standards on site

Monitoring progress, productivity and programme requirements

Coordinating with clients, site representatives and other contractors

Overseeing site documentation, daily reporting, inspections and quality assurance

Identifying and resolving site issues early to minimise delays

Maintaining clear communication between site teams and project management

About You

We’re looking for someone with strong practical construction knowledge who can confidently manage a site, lead a team and keep works progressing.

Ideally, you’ll have:

Proven experience as a Civil Site Supervisor, Site Manager or in a similar construction leadership role

A strong background in civil construction, particularly concreting, formwork, structural concrete or civil carpentry

Experience coordinating crews, subcontractors, plant and materials

Sound understanding of construction methodologies, drawings and specifications

Strong safety awareness and a commitment to quality workmanship

Good organisational, communication and problem-solving skills

The ability to plan ahead, manage competing priorities and make practical decisions on site

A current QLD Driver Licence

Experience working on operational coal mine sites will be highly regarded, along with current Standard 11, Coal Board Medical and relevant Site Supervisor competencies.

Location & Rosters

Ideally situated for Mackay locals, we work across EMS projects in the Bowen Basin and surrounding areas.

We offer 4/3 or 8/6 roster options, depending on project requirements and the successful applicant’s experience.

Applicants must reside in Mackay or be willing to relocate.
