Job summary

Australian Metal Recycling is seeking a hands-on Site Supervisor for our Dubbo yard to own the day-to-day operations and drive a safe, efficient operation within our seven-site network.

You will oversee the site team, process scrap material, manage transport, and build strong supplier relationships while ensuring compliance and accurate paperwork. This role offers autonomy and stability in a growing company.

Australian Metal Recycling (AMR) partners with industrial and commercial businesses across Australia to deliver efficient, reliable and transparent scrap metal recycling. We handle both ferrous and non-ferrous material, and our people understand the demands of large-scale operations. It's work that takes practical thinking, good judgement and a team that gets the job done properly.

We operate seven yards across NSW, and our Dubbo depot is a key part of that network. We're looking for a hands-on Site Supervisor to take ownership of the yard and run it well.

About the role

You'll be responsible for the day to day running of the Dubbo site, including:

Supervising and leading the site team

Overseeing the receipt, sorting and processing of scrap metal

Coordinating transport and outbound loads

Buying scrap over the weighbridge and building relationships with suppliers

Meeting scrap metal industry compliance requirements, including seller identification, transaction records and cashless payment obligations

Delivery dockets, paperwork and record keeping

Driving safety on site and ensuring the yard stays compliant

This is a role for someone who wants to own their yard, not just work in it. You'll have the autonomy to run the site your way, while working closely with our other branches and the wider AMR team.

About you

Proven leadership experience running a site, depot or crew

Scrap metal experience is highly desirable, but we'll consider strong leaders from similar industries such as waste, recycling, transport, quarrying or heavy industry

A genuine commitment to safety and doing things properly

Commercially minded, with good judgement around buying and pricing

Motivated, practical and able to make decisions on the spot
