Job summary

Seymour Whyte is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Officer to support the implementation and maintenance of site safety systems across our civil projects in regional Victoria and beyond. You will assist with routine site inspections, audits, PPE checks and recording findings.

The role requires a Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety, 3+ years of relevant experience, strong communication, and a current driver’s licence with own transport.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety required.
• 3+ years’ experience in a similar role within civil or construction.
• Strong communication skills with confidence engaging site personnel.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with safety reporting systems and a willingness to learn.
• Must hold a current Driver’s Licence and have own transport.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the implementation and maintenance of site safety systems and documentation.
• Assisting with routine site inspections, audits and PPE checks.
• Recording findings and helping track corrective actions to completion.
• Helping investigate incidents and near misses, including preparing reports.
• Maintaining safety registers, training records and compliance documentation.
