Job summary

Dewon Constructions is seeking an experienced Site Manager - Residential Construction to join our team on a contract basis, onsite at our flagship project in Gables, NSW 2765. You will lead day-to-day operations of a large-scale residential project, ensuring on-time delivery, budget control and high-quality workmanship.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of site leadership in residential construction, NSW White Card, and a builder's licence preferred; you will manage trades, coordinate safety,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of site management experience in residential construction.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Proven ability to deliver multi-dwelling residential projects on time and within budget.
• Current NSW White Card (Construction Induction) and appropriate construction qualifications.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities in line with specifications, timelines and budgets.
• Mentor tradespeople, labourers and subcontractors to ensure safe, productive work.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to meet industry standards and contract requirements.
• Monitor progress and report on schedule, budget and resource use.
• Maintain site documentation including logs, safety records and variation orders.
• Liaise with consultants, suppliers and clients to resolve issues promptly.
• Implement and enforce WHS protocols and inductions on site.
• Oversee procurement of materials and equipment and coordinate deliveries on site.
• Prepare budgets and track expenditures; identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Lead toolbox talks and ongoing safety training.

Job description

Dewon Constructions is seeking an experienced Site Manager - Residential Construction to join our team on a contract basis. This is a pivotal leadership position based onsite at our own flagship project located in Gables, NSW 2765, where you will oversee the day-to-day operations of a large scale residential project as part of the project delivery team. As Site Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, timelines and budgets

Manage and mentor construction teams, including tradespeople, labourers and subcontractors, fostering a safe and productive work environment

Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to ensure work meets industry standards and contractual requirements

Monitor project progress and produce detailed reports on schedule, budget and resource utilisation

Maintain comprehensive site documentation, including daily logs, safety records, material delivery notes and variation orders

Liaise with all stakeholders including consultants and suppliers to ensure effective communication and prompt resolution of any issues

Implement and enforce health and safety protocols, including induction procedures and incident reporting

Manage procurement of materials and equipment, coordinating deliveries and storage on site

Prepare and manage project budgets, tracking expenditure and identifying cost-saving opportunities

Conduct toolbox meetings and provide ongoing training to site personnel on safety procedures and best practices

What we're looking for

Minimum 5 years' experience as a Site Manager or Site Supervisor in residential construction, with highly preferable experience in the multi-dwelling/townhouse sector

Proven track record of successfully managing residential projects from inception to completion

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes and relevant Australian Standards

Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams

High level proficiency in construction and safety management software and technology

Current NSW White Card (Construction Induction) and relevant construction qualifications or certifications

Strong communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors and suppliers

Solid understanding of health and safety legislation, including WHS requirements applicable to construction sites

Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure

Attention to detail and strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities

Valid driver's licence and own motor vehicle

Preferred: Current NSW Builder's Licence with a trade background (carpentry preferred)

Role is Monday-Saturday

Preferred: Qualifications in Construction Management, Diploma in Building and Construction, or equivalent industry-recognised certification
